Elevating a Legal Practice Through Strategic Web Design

From $25k to $140k Monthly Revenue with a Holistic Digital Strategy

This was a newly formed law firm based in Boise, Idaho, specializing in Family Law, Cryptocurrency, Tax Law, and Estate Planning. The founding partners had recently left a larger firm and wanted to make a major market impact from day one. With minimal existing branding, they sought both a cohesive brand presence and a high-converting digital footprint.

My role included designing and developing a fresh website—12 core pages—alongside 4 “hidden” ad landing pages for targeted marketing campaigns. These pages worked hand-in-hand with social media ads to funnel potential clients directly to the firm’s services.

This project became one of the firm’s biggest success stories, increasing monthly revenue from $25k to $140k (in collaboration with the digital marketing team).

Initial Challenges & Solutions

Create a High-End, Trustworthy Aesthetic

The client requested a site that "felt like a high-end apparel store" while still showcasing legal expertise - clean lines, a comfortable yet confident vibe, and an air or professionalism.

Solution - Create Immediate Brand Awareness

Help the new firm make a noticeable splash with the visual aesthetic of the site to capture high-value leads. Branding on all social media posts featured the legal team and the same design aesthetic that was selected for the site.

Diverse and Evolving Focus

When created, the attorneys were initially centered on tax and bankruptcy law but quickly expanded into family law and a focus in Cryptocurrency both as a service area and a payment method.

Solution - Create a Fresh, Modern, and Impactful Presence

Project an image distinct from traditional legal sites, appealing to both conventional legal clients and those seeking cutting-edge solutions like Cryptocurrency advice. This was during a time when Cryptocurrency was still considered "new" and there were many questions about how it could be divided and leveraged as a financial asset.

No Existing User Insights

Though the partners founding the firm were experienced, this was a brand-new business entity with little real-world user data. Their primary goal was to create an impressive website that helped them to capture business leads.

Solution - User-Friendly Navigation and CTA's with a Solid SEO Foundation

We segmented multiple practice areas, each accessible yet cohesive under one brand.

Working the Problem

Initial Discovery & Brand Vision

  • The graphic designer and I listened closely to the client’s aesthetic preferences—dark lines, clean design, and approachable language.
  • We compared competitor sites (including the clients’ former firm) to ensure we would surpass them in functionality and modern design.

Establish Design &
Content Architecture

  • Focused on clarity and minimal jargon, especially around Cryptocurrency and Tax Law, to avoid alienating non-expert visitors.
  • Allowed the client access to specific pages and sections for real-time review to keep revisions quick and transparent thought the build process.

Specialized Content & Collaboration

  • Worked with the digital marketing team to ensure alignment on ad keywords, brand messaging, and user funnels.
  • Guided the client away from overly technical language: doctors and lawyers often create content aimed at peers, so we introduced 1-2 sentence definitions to clarify complex legal terms.
  • Used Monday to keep teams and client aware of progress.

Landing Pages & SEO Alignment

  • Developed 4 hidden landing pages at launch, targeting distinct audiences (e.g., crypto-enthusiasts, tax law prospects).
  • Integrated professional yet simplified copy to resonate with lay audiences, ensuring they fully grasped the firm’s offerings.

Additional
Considerations

Not every project has additional challenges however, most have additional aspects that need to be kept in mind as the build and content creation progress.

Highly Specialized Content

Complex legal fields (Cryptocurrency, Tax Law) often led the client to create jargon-heavy copy.

Solution - Content Strategy Management

We created simple, explanatory statements beneath key headings, ensuring non-experts understood core concepts. Then we advised the client on “two-sentence definitions” to keep landing pages digestible and user-friendly.

Multiple Practice Areas & Audience Segments

Blending family law, tax/bankruptcy, and cutting-edge crypto services risked confusing users.

Solution - Curated User Journey

We developed segmented navigation and distinct color or icon cues for each practice area, maintaining an overarching high-end aesthetic. Utilizing hidden landing pages for ad-driven traffic, we reduced clutter on the main site while allowing targeted messaging.

Hosting & Scalability

Rapid traffic from marketing campaigns needed a reliable, scalable host. The client was concerned with how traffic to their site would be handled and wanted to maximize uptime.

Solution - Superior Hosting Platform and Monitoring

We chose WPEngine as a web hosting platform for its marketing-friendly infrastructure, simplifying caching and traffic management. Additionally, we monitored performance during ad promotions, making minor optimizations (e.g., image compression) to keep page load times low.

Outcome in numbers

The main metric for success was how much business the firm could land. In conjunction with the social media and digital marketing team we exceeded the client's expectations for reach and revenue growth.
